Les Margotteries takes the protection of your personal data seriously. This policy explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it and what your rights are, in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Data we collect

When you fill in the booking form or contact us: last name, first name, e-mail address, phone number, stay dates and your message. When you book, we may also ask for your postal address to draw up the contract. We collect no sensitive data and no payment details on the site.

3. Why we use it

• to answer your requests and send you a quote;
• to manage your booking and your stay;
• to meet our legal obligations, including accounting and tax.

This processing is based on steps taken at your request before a contract, on the performance of the rental contract and on our legal obligations. We do not send marketing without your consent.

4. Recipients

Your data is intended only for the Les Margotteries team. Our host, Netlify, Inc., forwards form messages on our behalf. If you book through a platform (such as Airbnb or Gîtes de France), it processes your data under its own privacy policy. Your data is never sold or shared.

5. Cookies and tracking

Only with your consent, the site uses Google Analytics and Google Ads to measure visits and how well our ads work (pages viewed, requests sent, clicks on the phone number). Without your consent, none of these tools is loaded. See our cookie policy.

6. Hosting and transfers

The site is hosted by Netlify, Inc. (United States), so form data may be processed outside the European Union; such transfers are covered by the safeguards provided by the GDPR (European Commission standard contractual clauses).

7. Retention

• Enquiry not followed by a booking: 3 years after our last exchange.
• Booking: for the duration of the relationship, then 10 years for accounting records, as required by law.

8. Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or transfer your data, or object to its use, by writing to lesmargotteries@gmail.com. We reply within one month. If you believe your rights are not respected, you can complain to the French data protection authority, the CNIL (cnil.fr).

9. Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data: encrypted connection (HTTPS), protected inbox access, and only the data we need.

This policy may change. The date of the last update appears at the bottom of this page.
